What we collect

To run a private income protection network, we collect:

  • Identity data: name, date of birth, NIN, BVN, selfie/liveness, address.
  • Contact data: email, phone number, state and city.
  • Employment & income data: employer, work type, payslips, bank statements.
  • Financial data: bank account details for contributions and payouts, payment history.
  • Claim data: trigger event, supporting documents, narrative, and check-ins.
  • Device & usage signals: IP address, device fingerprint, login history (used for fraud control).

Why we collect it

  • To verify your identity and confirm income before you become claim-eligible.
  • To process contributions, schedule payouts, and operate your account.
  • To prevent fraud and protect the integrity of the membership pool.
  • To meet legal obligations under Nigerian financial-services regulation.

Who we share it with

We share the minimum data required, only with:

  • Verification partners: KYC, BVN/NIN, and bank-account validation providers.
  • Payment providers: for collecting contributions and disbursing payouts.
  • Regulators & law enforcement: only where legally required.
  • Your employer: for employer-onboarded members, only the data the employer uploaded.

We do not sell your data, and we never share it with marketers.

How long we keep it

We retain your data for as long as your membership is active and for up to 7 years after closure to meet financial-services record-keeping obligations. Some claim-related records may be kept longer where the law requires.

Security

  • Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.
  • Access is role-based and restricted to authorised personnel on a need-to-know basis.
  • Production access is logged and audited.
  • Sensitive document hashes are checked across submissions to detect re-use.

Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act, you can:

  • Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
  • Close your account and request deletion (subject to legal retention).
  • Object to specific uses of your data.

Cookies & analytics

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. Aggregated analytics help us improve the product; we do not use cross-site advertising trackers.

Changes to this policy

We will notify members of material changes at least 30 days in advance via email and in-app notice. The "last updated" date above always reflects the most recent revision.
